My name is alshahamagirl and I was born in 1983 in Abu Dhabi.  I live in Shahama city with my family in a small villa.  I’m the youngest in my family with four brothers.  I’m studying at ADMC until nowadays and my major is Medical Laboratory.  I chose this major because I like technical things.  I’m interested in watching football matches on TV or in real life and also watching car racing or air shows because I’m raised with four brothers I like to do boys stuff.

I’m going to tell you some entertainment sports activities.   

There are a lot of entertainment sports activities in the all world like UAE has basketball, volleyball, bowling, camel racing and ice hockey. However, football remains the most popular sport in the UAE.

WHAT IS GLOBAL WARMING?

Global warming refers to an average increase in the Earth’s temperature, which in turn causes changes in climate.  A warmer Earth may lead to changes in rainfall patterns, a rise in sea level and a wide range of impacts on plants, wildlife and humans.  Greenhouse gases make the Earth warmer by trapping energy inside the atmosphere.  An overall increase in world temperatures which may be caused by additional heat being trapped by greenhouse gases.  The Greenhouse effect acts to warm the plant and increase average global temperatures.  This is seen as a major environmental hazard as average temperatures rise, leading to a possible change in weather patterns and agricultural output.  This also may lead to melting of the polar ice-cap and a corresponding rise in sea level.

CAUSES OF GLOBAL WARMING

Carbon Dioxide is emitted from Cars, Trucks, Airplanes, buildings and power plants.  For example, carbon dioxide emissions stem from the burning of fossil fuels for the purpose of electricity generation, and carbon dioxide emissions comes from the burning of gasoline in internal-combustion engines of cars and light trucks and carbon dioxide are emitted into the air.  Methane is derived from sources such as bacteria in bogs and fossil fuel production.  Nitrous oxide is naturally produced by oceans and rainforests.  Deforestation is responsible for 25% of all carbon emissions entering the atmosphere, so we are losing temperate forests.  There are a lot of causes in the world about Global Warming and the main one that I choose it is a Carbon Dioxide.   The Carbon Dioxide is one of causes that emitted from different types, such as Cars, Trucks, Airplanes, buildings and power plants. 

EFFECTS OF GLOBAL WARMING

Global Warming is one of the most common problems the world is facing nowadays.  There are several effects of global warming that really bothers people especially those who are in Agriculture Industry.  It affects their insurance which means how they will produce better goods if they had the lack of financial stability.  It also affects their means of transportation which is important to their business because of the continue price hike of petrol.  Flood is also one their enemy, so they should build flood defense to protect for natural disaster as much as possible.  Another effect is weather.  It really does increase the evaporation.  The climate grows warmer and the causes of global dimming are reduced and so the evaporation will increase due to warmer oceans.  The temperature rises to the maximum that really affects not only for human being, but for all living and non-living things.  Not only forest have the tendency to easily ignite fires or in anyplace.  Even the sea ice had already retreated. 

One specific effects of global warming that I thought, the people really concern was the changes of weather and climates.  It is believed that climate change is raising temperatures allowing some skin fungus or virus not only for human, but for animals too.  I think the best example of this effect is what I read in one newspaper about the disappearance of amphibian species in
Costa Rica.  Scientist yet identify that fatal fungus is the prime suspect that invaded their habitats.  This is such a difficult problem that bothers and burdens people of today what more for the next generations.

UAE AND GLOBAL WARMING

The report released on Aug. 3 by the Emirates News Agency highlights the dangers caused by global warming to many Middle Eastern countries, including the United Arab Emirates. The two most severe problems are desertification and dangerously high sea levels, which could rise by as much as 2.89 feet in this century. According to Sheikh Hamdan Bin Nahyan, deputy chairman of the UAE’s Environmental Research and Wildlife Development Agency, “This can flood not only coastal areas of the United Arab Emirates, but also much of the heavily populated Nile Delta in
Egypt.  Said His Excellency Sheikh Mohammed bin Faisal Al Qassimi, Vice-Chairman, “Through this campaign we wish to address some of the issues posed by climate change which is one of the biggest challenges facing mankind. We all need to change for better our relationship with nature and think like environmentalists. As a result we have to work harder to get our message across and declare an immediate war on carbon in order to hand over a clean world to our children.”

INDIVIDUAL ACTION

There are a lot of people that want to help in living in a good environment, but they don’t know how. Actually it is very simple some little behaviors can make a difference. First we could begin with walking or using a bicycle instead of car in the short distance. Second we could reduce using the AC all the time it is true that UAE is very hot, but some time we can unused it some times. We can also reduce the amount of using the electricity by switching off all electrical things that we don’t use. Recycling is very important for helping the environment, so we can put the waste that could be recycled in the recycling boxes. Finally I think the most important thing is always consider the environment in every job we do and keep the environment clean.

WHAT I LEARNED DURING THIS PROJECT 

This project taught me many things that very useful ways. Let me mention some examples, the first thing that I have learned is how to make a special site for me. It is very interesting to have a site that you can talk about anything interests you and you can show it for your friends. It’s also very nice to see your friend put comments for your subjects. The second thing that I have learned is how to find the information from many sources. I don’t forget to mention the source that I took the information.  The third thing that I have learned is how the team group is working together, this is very nice when you are working and your friends tell you what you should have to do next step.
